Lady Macbeth
Riverdale (season 1): Riverdale is about a small town full of teen drama and mystery when a teenager is found dead with no explanation. The main characters, Veronica, Betty, Archie work with those within the town to figure out who has committed this crime in a normally small town. Lady Macbeth reminds me of Cheryll's father. He is not as highlighted as the other characters (but will be) and he is very proud of what he started (Maple syrup trade). Towards the end the truth catches up to him and he is overwhelmed with what has been found of of him. Similar to Lady Macbeth, she is also overwhelmed with holding a secret in causing her suicide.
Scandal: Scandal is a about a woman, Olivia Pope, running her business (OP&A) and simply getting on top. She does this by being romantically involved with the president. Her clients are usually politicians or wealthy people asking for her help to solve public relations. Lady Macbeth reminds me of one of the presidents advisers, Cyrus Beene. Cyrus is a man who always seems to get his way and is ready to go by any means necessary to get it. Likewise, Lady Macbeth has the same mindset and when she wants something done, it gets done and her way. An example would be Duncan's death. She wanted him dead and didn't want any blood on her hands so she told her husband he looked too much like her father and couldn't proceed with the murder.
Orange is the New Black: OITNB humanizes the dehumanized by giving each one of the woman a story to tell. They are much more than an inmate in a prison. The labels given to these woman such as thief, murderer etc. are transformed into much more. Throughout the plot of Macbeth, we learn about not only her actions but who she truly is. Shakespeare mentions how she lost her child and her desire to be a man which may induce sympathy for her as OITNB does when their story is revealed.
American Horror Story: This series is a combination of many different themes. The one that connects most with Macbeth is season two, asylum. This season hit on many topics such as ambition, death, insanity, and the supernatural. Kit Walker is admitted into Briarcliff rehabilitation center for being a suspect for murders and implying his wife was abducted by aliens. Within the facility, there are many different people. Throughout the season, the supernatural become more and more significant as in Macbeth which is an important link. In this instance, force was used by the supernatural to follow a religion (such as shock therapy) because the institution was religious. In Macbeth the supernatural did nothing but talk about a prophecy which induced both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to commit what would be considered a sin.

I used OITNB too! I must say, the show AHS never crossed my mind but it is such a perfect fit. By the looks of it Lady Macbeth is gonna be real comfortable in her castle with the shows you picked. Our lists were similar, shows how great minds think alike aha.

Ok but the fact that you said Cyrus Bean and Lady Macbeth are the same.. smh did you even watch the show? I mean yes I agree up until season 4? it was like that but then Mr. Bean freaking turns against him starts going crazy and then kills frankie vargas. Wow what a shame. I think Olivia Pope and Lady Macbeth are a lot alike though.
